Our client is a sizeable specialist consultancy in the fields of renewable energy, energy efficiency and climate change. The Senior Bioenergy Consultant will join a dedicated, ambitious, pragmatic and inventive team of consultants, working closely with industry, governments and NGOs to provide policy development, strategic consultancy services, biomass sourcing, technology selection, feasibility studies, due diligence services and project development support. You will be expected utilise an in-depth knowledge of the market and existing contact network in the generation of sales leads, write proposals to secure new consulting contracts, and support colleagues on technical, policy and strategy related to biomass/bioenergy.
We are looking for a proven consultant with an academic background and several years' professional experience in the energy or waste sector, agro-industry, forestry, agriculture, wood processing or paper industry (experience in the biomass project planning process and project development would be advantageous). A demonstrable commercial attitude and entrepreneurial skills in identifying and seizing opportunities in a competitive market place would be highly advantageous. Your expertise might extend to biomass combustion and co-firing, biofuels - including second generation technology developments, anaerobic digestion, electricity and/or heat generation (CHP), and biomass supply chain sustainability.
