The Role:
Management of integration of Designers and interface to Planning supervisors and construction partners
Technical and administrative management of staff and resources dedicated to the Project Team from various partner and external organisations
Coordination and development of policies, plans, budgets and work programmes for the Project Team
Ensuring compliance with agreed standards and procedures
To manage design and engineering of substation projects in order to ensure completion on schedule within budget and in accordance with specification.
To coordinate with other JV partners for effective and efficient execution of all projects.
Short-term travel may be involved in UK and overseas for equipment inspection and assistance with equipment installation and commissioning.
Experience Required:
Management of multi discipline technical resources in highly competitive transmission and distribution market
Experienced in successful implementation of engineering projects within High Voltage Industry, and preferably for National Grid
Understanding of CDM and all related legislations for work within UK
Commitment to ‘Zero By Design' philosophy
Ability to innovate designs to achieve cost savings
Design knowledge of major primary and secondary electrical equipment, and understanding of the M&E and Civil aspects of the works.
Sizing calculations for major electrical equipment
Interfacing and co-ordination with other Disciplines
Familiarisation with International Standards
Computer literate, and familiar with at least project planning tool.
Qualifications; degree or HNC / HND in Electrical engineering
