Our client, an established licensed operator in the UK Electricity and Gas Markets is looking to take on an experienced trader to join their 24/7 shift team.
You would be working independently and take responsible for daily monitoring and forecasting electricity and gas usage, engaging in short term trading to fulfil the Company's contractual commitments to purchase and supply the correct amount of electricity and gas with a view to maximising the Company's P & L. In addition, you would undertake other operational and forecasting duties connected to the Company's forward energy and energy consolidation commitments.
You will have proven mathematical and analytical skills and possess working knowledge of the operational, legal and contractual frameworks surrounding the UK Electricity Markets. You will also have strong computer skills, excellent communication and negotiation skills, high attention to detail, and be self-motivated and results orientated.
The day to day role will involve contacting generators and other counter-parties to either buy or sell depending on customer's and imbalance requirements, negotiate prices, record transactions, ensure compliance with customers and suppliers contracts, and analyse demand and supply.
Salary for this role is, depending on experience, approx 25-35K, plus 2K shift allowance, plus company benefits.
