Primary Objective
Reporting to the Instrument Superintendent, hands on and involvement experience in all aspects of construction supervision, construction/turnarounds & final completion/turnover to Client for a multi-billion EPC project, working within existing operational facilities.
Specific Accountabilities
Supervision of project instrumentation construction works, which includes, installations, inspection and testing
Assist to carry out instrument calibration trouble shooting and loop checks.
Ensure that contractors comply with all aspects of the Worksite HSE Plan and policy; site regulations, permit to work and Client requirements.
Maintain daily supervisory surveillance checks and records ensuring that contractor's management and supervision are providing safe working conditions and permitting procedures, all required competent personnel, protective equipment, adequate supervision and manpower, with reliable, well maintained equipment to execute the contracted works as per contract schedule and targets.
Ensure the instrument works complied with project specifications, company procedures, method statements, quality assurance and control documents.
Ensure proper change control by issuing Field Instructions for all changes, reviewing Technical Queries to ensure responses are appropriate and practical, and reviewing Advanced Revision notices prior to issue to contractors to ensure correct use of construction resources.
Ensure contractors dimensional control methods for checking that the works are properly set out. Supervise specialist surveying contractors where necessary.
Ensure practical security and protection of the works and that all contractors' provisions for temporary plant are fit for purpose.
Ensure that all construction materials, embedded items, special fixtures are approved for use and that they are stored, protected and available to workface locations as required.
Agree method statements and JHA's. Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with the agreed method statements.
Requirements
Strong commitment to safety
Demonstrated significant experience in Field of Instrumentation on large international Petrochemical projects.
Relevant qualifications (trade as minimum) and relevant experience in Field Instrument supervision.
Ability to lead and direct other on construction projects
Possess oral and written English language skills required to function effectively within an international project team, and to communicate with Project Management, Contractors and Subcontractors.
Clearly exhibited ability to develop good working relationships/become a team player.
