This Reservoir Services organisation has an urgent requirement for an experienced and highly motivated Land Seismic Processing Supervisor to be based in their UK office. Located a commutable distance from central London this organisation hopes to start interviewing very soon and are currently accepting applications from technically minded individuals with strong Land based background and excellent team working capabilities.
The Role
An experienced individual is sought to take up a supervisor position within the Land Seismic Imaging Group. The role promises to be varied and challenging and the ideal candidate will be someone who can not only demonstrate the right technical background but also demonstrate a can do and proactive approach to their work. The role is expected to incorporate the following:
Marketing of the Land Seismic Imaging group's services and building and maintaining strong client relationships
Supervising and participating in all phases of land seismic 2D and 3D imaging projects, including testing, selecting geophysical data processing parameters, production and establishing and maintaining quality control procedures to ensure a high quality, timely and cost effective product.
Supervising teams running many different projects simultaneously
Frequent client interaction; tailoring processing sequences to individual projects depending on geology, data acquisition techniques, time and financial constraints
Communicating with Operations, Marketing, Systems Administration, Programming and Research Departments
Developing an appreciation of land seismic acquisition designs so as to understand their impact on seismic processing work flows
Tracking processing and resource status
Training and developing other processors in the division
Education & Experience
Degree in Geophysics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Geology, or other related technical degree required
First hand, industry based seismic data processing experience is a must
Excellent Math skills and a flair for problem solving
Strong knowledge of data quality assurance and quality control methods
High energy level and positive attitude along with the ability to work well alone as well as in team settings. The successful candidate will be communicating with industry professionals at all levels and so strong interpersonal skills are a must.
Enthusiasm for ongoing learning and accept challenging assignments
Good communication and presentation skills
Experience with a UNIXenvironment
Given the seniority of this post applicants must be able to both supervise and perform all the specific duties listed below:
Data input
Geometry application, QC and seismic data
Parameterization and application of enhancement techniques
Parameterization and application of resolution enhancing techniques
Velocity analysis with and without well control for velocity model building
Pre stack migration imaging techniques
