The Organisation

 

London based E&P Company seeks to employ at least one talented & experienced Geologist this year. Due to exciting future plans for expansion there is likely to be room for further experienced G&G staff as the year progresses.

 

The London based team is best described a medium sized, independent and dynamic part of a large international outfit, one with an excellent reputation in the O&G industry. Having been involved in exploration and production two decades this well established organisation has developed an impressive portfolio range in both operated and non operated exploration. This has been achieved via significant development projects and mature production.

The Role

 

This role has come about as a result of ongoing business success and plans for extensive development in the coming years.  On that basis a Senior Geologist is sought to act as the main provider of geological support and advice for across all Explo, Dev & Production functions.  A varied and challenging role the appointee will be responsible for the analysis of all geologically related data to support exploration, appraisal and new business development activities and geological evaluation of open acreage and farm-out/acquisition opportunities.

You will be involved in liaising with and directing geological consultants on company projects and the planning and monitoring of well operations.  In addition the successful candidate will play a key role in joint venture operated and non-operated meetings.

This is a pivotal role within the organisation and will see you developing strategies with management.  Within this organisation strong emphasis is placed on developing integrated geophysical/geological interpretation (along with the necessary acquisition, processing and modelling skills).

Education & Experience

 

Individuals considered suitable for this role are those with proven oil industry experience, some previous North Sea experience is a must.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate broad experience across the exploration / development /production cycle.  For this role experience in development assets is seen as particularly important.

Key requirements sought include:

  • Exposure to a wide variety of plays and prospectivity.
  • Understanding of basin and play analysis.
  • Experience of the interpretation and analysis of logs and core data.
  • Solid understanding of resource estimation and risking.
  • Good commercial awareness and understanding of the economic analysis of prospects and fields.
  • A highly motivated and innovative approach to your work.
  • Team player with good communication skills.

Salary & Rewards

 

The starting salary offered for this role will be reflective of qualifications, skills & enthusiasm for your chosen profession.  It is envisaged that the salary range will sit between £60- 90K
